This is the latest documentary that Netflix delivered to my door.
It was released in 2003, and is about a writing program run by Eve Ensler in a women's maximum security prison. There's intimate footage of inmates reading and discussing their own stories in a writer's workshop at the prison, intermixed with footage of some very accomplished actresses -- including Glenn Close -- doing a performance at the prison. The actresses read the women's stories to all of the prisoners.
Thought-provoking. Tragic. Inspiring. Powerful.
If you're intrigued, here's the trailer.
